Objective
To address an identified need to ensure that a wide variety of woods workers
have the opportunity to receive a consistent core knowledge base relating to
environmental awareness and environmentally sensitive practices.
Description
The Front Line Training in Environmentally Sensitive Practices is a project
of the Western Newfoundland Model Forest and its partners: Abitibi Consolidated
Ltd., Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Ltd., Newfoundland Forest Service Ecosystem
Health Division, Gros Morne National Park and the Centre for Forest and Environmental
Studies. This report outlines a training session in Roddickton, sponsored by
the Western Newfoundland Model Forest. This training session represents the
first field test of the curriculum materials by the Newfoundland Forest Service.
This report contains the agenda for the two day session, feedback from the participants
and recommendations from the presenters.
