Objective
To involve the educational system in the model forest process and to promote
increased awareness and understanding of the dynamics of forest ecosystems and
environmentally sustainable forest practices.
Description
The Western Newfoundland Model Forest CD ROM is a multimedia application which
focuses on forestry issues, practices, and studies and links them to Newfoundland
and Labrador’s education curriculum. The use of pictures, sounds, videos
and 3D terrain modeling create an interesting learning environment for elementary
and high school students, as well as the general public.
