Monday, May 2

 

Breakfast – by invitation – 8:30 a.m.

Official Opening and Tree Planting – all are welcome. 9:30 a.m.

Lunchtime Speaker Series: Industry in the Boreal Forest
Jim Evans, Abitibi Consolidated; and George Van Dusen, Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Ltd.
12-1 p.m. Bring your lunch.

 

Tuesday, May 3

Lunchtime Speaker Series: Aboriginal Values in Forest Management

Lunchtime Speaker Series: Model Forests in Atlantic Canada

Nairn Hay, Fundy Model Forest

Pierre Belleau, Bas-Saint-Laurent Model Forest. Bring your lunch.

CBC Crosstalk on Radio Noon – Trees in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Anne’s guests will be David Evans, senior arborist with the City of St. John’s, and George Van Dusen, Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Woodlands.

CFS walking tour – Regina High School 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Social – Join us on the patio behind the Forest Centre (enter through Canadian Forest Service Main Floor, Forest Centre) for a social.
Munchies and cash bar. In case of inclement weather, we’ll meet in the CFS boardroom.

Corner Brook Pulp and Paper offering mill tours with a focus on Woodlands
10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

National Forest Week Charity Hockey Tournament in support of Log-a-Load for Kids.
Begins 5 p.m. at the Pepsi Centre (Kinsmen Arena). Donations gratefully accepted at the door. Runs until May 8.
